Talk at University of Vienna
On the 19th January I spoke at the University of Vienna to the groups of Prof. Markus Arndt & Prof. Markus Aspelmeyer, invited by Dr. James Millen. My talk focused on the year of prototyping the whispering gallery mode accelerometer; an optomechanical sensor capable of resolving micro-g (g= force of gravity, 9.81 m/s^(2)) accelerations.
I also had some great lab tours, learning more about different techniques for cooling silica nanospheres, performing matter interferometry, and looking at other degrees of freedom such as rotation!
